Tarpon

The mighty silver king also known as tarpon are pursued usually during the early spring thru late summer, (starting in early April and runs through August). The Florida tarpon are very acrobatic fighters. Taking to the air in high leaps and sizzling runs. They sometimes gather in huge schools looking for something to eat. Tarpon are considered the premier gamefish of S.W. Florida. The tarpon are found all over S.W. Florida waters from the deep passes to the shallow grassflats. There are many different ways to fish for them. Some are caught on artificials, others on live bait.

Rules and regulations for the following species are:
Cobia
 There is no closed season on cobia. Slot limit of 1 fish per person, which has to  be 33" to the fork of the tail.
Mangrove Snapper
 No closed season on mangrove snapper. Slot limit of 5 fish to 10" long.
Permit
 There is no closed season on this species. Permit have to be 12" to the fork of the  tail.
Redfish
 There is no closed seasons on redfish. There is a slot limit of 1 fish per person which  has to be 18" to 27".
Seatrout
 There is a closed season on seatrout of Nov 1st to Dec 31st. There is a slot limit of 4  fish per person, which have to be 15" to 20" of which one can be over 20".
Snook
 There are two seperate closed seasons on this species. From May 1st to September  1st and Dec 15th to Feb 15th. Snook have a slot limit of 1 fish per person which has  to be 26" to 34".
Tarpon
 There is no season or size resrictions on Florida tarpon. There is however a $50.00 tag  to possess a tarpon. These fish are a year round fishery, but they bite best from early  April to late August.

Seatrout

Seatrout are the most numerous fish of the saltwater flats. Seatrout are eager to bite most any live or artificial baits. Great fish for beginners or someone who would just like to have fun.

Redfish

The redfish is a really strong fish that often times will peel the line off your reel. Redfish are found around oyster bars, passes, inlets, open grassflats, and sometimes in the open Gulf. The redfish is a year round fishery. They are a lot of fun.

Jack Crevalle

The jack crevalle is one of the strongest fighters pound for pound. These fish hit with extreme speed and power. They can range in size from a 1/2 pound to over 30lbs. One or two of these and you will be ready to take a break.

Snook

The snook is a powerful and acrobatic leaper when hooked. Snook like to run to structure when hooked to cut your line. Snook are caught on a variety of artificial and natural baits. Snook will feed in both daytime and nighttime hours. Snook are strictly managed with slot limits and closed seasons, but catch and release is year round. Ask us about our snook night fishing trips.
